March 2012 my hunny decided to take me on a surprise get away. everything was a surprise. From the destination, to the people accompanying us, to the chain of events leading up to that special day.
I might as well have been blindfolded, because I was totally left in the dark. I was clueless about where I was going until we reached LAX airport. I called to check up on Serenity and his mom who was baby sitting at the time, asked me "so are you surprised with Vegas"? For a minute I was lost, until it hit me that we were only in L.A. to transfer flights. Well that was it. i was screaming jumping shouting and hugging on him like a mad woman. Thanks Ma!!!
Fast forward......So we are looking at the Vegas strip from the bridge connecting our hotel to, another hotel when suddenly a familiar face walks up to me. It was my Best Friend, Tashika Henriquez, who apparently had been in on this the whole time. In a state of shock I smacked her face to make sure I wasn't dreaming. That was it, it was about to go down. In Vegas with my besty and our boos, I couldn't have been any happier.
However that wasn't it. At the casino we got stalled. Maurice says to me babe it's time for another surprise, and what do you know Mr. & Mrs. Goodson walk on the set. OMG if you know us then you know that now there is trouble, and going down is an understatement!
So we are partying having a blast. Eating, drinking, gambling, and even enjoyed the Cirque Du Soleil show.... can't quite remember the name, but it was fab! The night is still young and my hunny turns to me again and says "baby close your eyes and let me guide you" Oh my! I'm nervous, and excited all at once. He has his hands over my eyes and is guiding me through, what i thought was a maze. And at the end was another beautiful surprise, my family. Neffy, Shawn, Bree, Took, Tonya and L. Who are you kidding I was stoked! I could not stop laughing, crying and most of all cursing everyone out for keeping this such a secret. I must admit though, I do appreciate their loyalty.
It's Viva LAs Vegas baby and boy are we having a ball. From the Kevin Hart Comedy Show to the late night casino show downs, to the Koyote Ugly bars.... We are having a blast! Late nights and early mornings.
Well, it's my birthday, March 25, 2012. First up, sky diving indoors, and dinner at the steak house. Delicious and fun. It's time to nap because to my understasnding tonight, that night was what it was all about! CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY :)
Waiting on everyone to meet up was no problem that night. It was fairly odd to me that everyone was on time, but how dare i complain. Though the wind was whipping mighty strong, my hunny was adoment about celebrating on the roof top of the Rio Hotel. And hey, he's already done a fine job thus far so I wasn't gonna dare complain!
Welp people this is it. We walk into this fabulous lounge where they have VIP section all set up for me and the crew. the DJ is rocking, flash is popping and the drinks are pouring! Life is grand. Who knew that the toast of the night would be..... " I just wanna say thank you to all of you who came out to help me celebrate E on her 28th Birthday. But baby this is how we really do it in Vegas" and there was that. My hunny, my homey. my lover my friend, dropped down on one knee. So magical. Just the way every young girl dreams of it to be. The crowd is cheering and the tears are rolling, as I faintly hear him say " Baby will you marry me?" So I drop down with him, totally consumed by my emotions, resting my head on his shoulder trying to gather the moments. Until i'm interrupted with "Answer me babe" And that's when I said YES.
With all my heart and soul, I said YES, as I watched him gently place that beautiful ring upon my finger. He was wearing the biggest smile, with my red lipstick smeared across his lips. We had cheers and tears coming from everyone and from everywhere. And then the DJ plays "New York", my Dad's favorite song ........ the night is complete!
