Our proposal was a romantic one, or at least it was supposed to be.  It happened Christmas Day (December 25, 2011) about 2am, we were up wrapping gifts for the kids and I was sick.  Unfortunately, I came down with the worse cold and I just wanted to wrap gifts and go to bed.  However, my plan for retreating back to the bed was interrupted by my proposal.  I was encouraged to check my stocking.  I was told that Santa left me a little gift as well.  I have to admit there was a little resistance because all I wanted to do was go back to bed.  However, I was highly encouraged to check the stocking and I did.  To my surprise there was a nice small box wrapped in gold paper.  Now, I thought it was a pair of diamond studs that I had been eyeing for a while, so being the "Miss Know it All" I am I told him I already knew what it was and would just open it in the morning.  I have to say this man loves me because I think I may have given up at this point.  But he again encouraged me to open the box and to my surprise it was not the diamond studs but a symbol of his love and commitment to me, it was a ring.  I couldn't believe after all I put him through that evening, I had to ask if I could keep it.  After the shock, he asked the question and the rest is history or should I say a bright future to come.  What can I say I love that man.
